9v DC battery operated Optical (photoelectric) smoke detector. Optical smoke alarms also known as Photoelectric, can detect large smoke particles created by slow burning fires (such as smouldering foam filled furniture and over heating electrical wiring) marginally earlier than ionisation type detectors. The unit can be inter-connected with up to 11 other compatible detectors.
