FREE Pre-Delivery Inspections on all Fire Extinguishers

Fire and Safety Centre provide a FREE Pre-Delivery inspection on every fire extinguisher you buy from us, and provide a completed maintenance label detailing the date of inspection.

This means that your extinguisher complies with the British Standard Code of Practice (BS5306 Part 3) which recommends that fire extinguishers are serviced at least annually to ensure they function in an emergency and that a service record is kept detailing the maintenance history.

With our pre-delivery inspection your extinguisher can be installed for use immediately without the need for a service engineer to test the appliance on installation or for a further 12 months. All extinguishers should be routinely checked at least every 3 months but ideally monthly to check if the extinguisher has been discharged or lost pressure. Most stored pressure extinguishers are fitted with an integral pressure gauge for this purpose.

The requirement to provide fire-fighting equipment in buildings is embodied within the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which requires that where necessary:

"a) The premises are, to the extent that it is appropriate, equipped with appropriate fire fighting equipment and

b) Any non-automatic fire-fighting equipment so provided is easily accessible, simple to use and indicated by signs."

Purchasing a new extinguisher is not a guarantee that the equipment is in perfect working order. With our free pre delivery inspection Fire and Safety Centre provides a valuable safeguard should a fire emergency occur and ensures your installation is compliant with current legislation and ready for immediate use.
