Marine Approved Fire Extinguishers added to range
18th September 2008
Fire and Safety Centre has extended its range of Dry Powder fire extinguishers introducing 1kg and 2 Kg units quality Certified to the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and bearing the “Ships Wheel” seal of approval for marine use. The ultra compact 1Kg capacity ABC dry powder extinguisher weighs less than 2kg and is small enough to be mounted unobtrusively in a small boat, or to add to an on board emergency escape bag. The lightweight and versatile MED approved 2Kg capacity ABC dry powder extinguisher has greater knock down capability and is for wall mounting in larger boats.
Both sizes are supplied with durable mounting bracket, are EN3 compliant and come with a 5 year UK manufacturer’s warranty.
ABC Dry Powder is the versatile fire extinguisher choice providing protection against Class A (solids, paper etc), Class B (flammable liquids), Class C (flammable gases) and is also safe to use on electrical equipment fires. Prices include pre-delivery inspection and completed maintenance label.
Note: ABC powder leaves a residue when used that can damage sensitive electrical equipment. Use a CO2 extinguisher for optimum protection without risk of damage. ABC powder is not effective on cooking oil and fat fires. Use a wet chemical extinguisher.
