They are suitable for both actively fighting live fires as well as for use in preventative fire safety measures. The premium design of the PyroFlow Active Fire Suppression Granules - 17kg Poly Bag allows it to effectively smother and suppress lithium-ion battery fires as well as binding liquids and filtering gases. This is vital for tackling lithium-ion battery fires, helping to prevent the spread of the toxic gases released in thermal runaway. Its ability to be quickly placed on top of the fire before getting clear also makes it a potentially safer alternative to the use of dedicated fire extinguishers, enabling you to get clear of any toxic gases and explosive projectiles. These granules are made from expanded glass granulate that contains tiny pores to form a partially closed cell structure. A 100% mineral based construction makes these granules non-combustible as well as entirely non-toxic and eco-friendly.

How Does It Work?

The PyroFlow Active Fire Suppression Granules - 17kg Poly Bag is ideal for use as a firefighting response against lithium-ion battery fires. You can place the bag directly on a fire and it will melt the plastic bag to carefully distribute the granules. The granules melt under high temperatures to form glass and as they melt, the granules absorb a lot of the heat, helping to cool the fire. At the same time, they form an impermeable shell around the fire load, separating it from oxygen and encapsulating it to prevent further reaction. This means the granules will not only suppress the fire, but they will also prevent reignition. Please note that the number of bags required to suppress the fire will depend on the size of the battery.

Delivery will normally be made at any time between 08:00am and 06:00pm, Monday to Friday. It is important to ensure that an authorised person is available to receive the goods. If we are unable to deliver as arranged, then we reserve the right to levy an additional charge for the re-delivery of the items. Special delivery instructions can be provided to us at checkout in order to minimise the possibility of this happening.

Some of the items that we deliver are large and bulky. Unless otherwise stated, the item will only be delivered ‘door-to-door’ rather than being taken inside your premises.
